Fish Out of Water

FISH OUT OF WATER:
This was my last project in SGD Game Design 2, my favorite game that semester. I was paired up with Sean Agnew, who I had worked with previously on Agent Avenge, and our 4 man team managed to crank out a full 3D game using GameMaker.
The class requires the use of GameMaker 1.4 specifically, which really isn't made for 3D games at all, which made it a lot of fun! I was incredibly happy with the way this turned out, this was my brainchild of the semester.
The first hurdle was me and Sean simply trying to get obj files converted for use with GameMaker, which uses d3d format. In the end the art team was able to create assets using their preferred software.
We ended up with:
20+ upgrades
3 environments
Procedurally generated levels
5 obstacle types
Forestry and grass
Vertex displaced
Smooth camera movements
Particle systems
Translation/rotation tween animations
